After Miranda Chesney buys the house of her dreams, she must contend with unexplainable happenings centered around an ancient blue bottle found on the property.

Miranda falls in love with Rosewood, a centuries old, tumble-down, gambrel roofed charmer in Virginia's Tidewater, but soon discovers it's an affair with complications. A lot of them. Located in an isolated, coastal corner of Virginia that even the locals refer to as "strange", Miranda shrugs all locational concerns aside to pursue her new love.

When an archeological dig is undertaken at the property and a witch bottle is discovered, a series of incidents commence that go beyond just "bumps in the night". Meanwhile, disturbing encounters with the local folks leave Miranda shaken and unsure of her new home…and herself. Awakened one night by the eerie glow from a ring of fire around her house, Miranda must decide: solve the mystery of Rosewood's bottled-up secrets or be forced to abandon her home.
