Laura Stamps

Laura Stamps is an award-wining poet and novelist. Over six hundred of her poems, short stories, and poetry book reviews have appeared in literary journals, magazines, anthologies, and broadsides, including the Louisiana Review, American Writing, Big City Lit, Sunpiper Press, Poesy Magazine, Chiron Review, The Pittsburgh Quarterly, and Fullosia Press.

She is the author of more than twenty-five books of poetry and prose. Recent books of poetry include "In the Garden" (The Moon Publishing, 2004) and "Cat Daze" (Kittyfeather Press, 2004). Several of her poems are included in the celebrity anthology "Open My Eyes, Open My Soul"(McGraw-Hill Books, 2003), "Women of the Web Anthology of Poems" (Little Poems Press, 2005), and "A Millennial Sampler of South Carolina Poetry" (Ninety-Six Press, 2005). Her poems have also been illustrated as art prints and are sold worldwide by Haddad's Fine Arts, Inc., in California.

Laura Stamps grew up in the mountains of north Georgia and was educated at Dalton College and the College of Charleston. Currently, she lives in the midlands of South Carolina with her husband, three black housecats, and eight stray cats.

L. Stamps Book Signing

On Saturday, October 1, 2004 Laura Stamps attended a book signing at Books on Main in Newberry, SC. (The image above is of Laura signing her book for one of Books on Main's local patrons.) Laura had a great time at the signing and we want to thank the Books on Main owner, Randy Berry for inviting Laura to this event. We also want to thank the many Books on Main patrons who stopped by and met Laura.

We would like to thank the managers and patrons of the two Waldenbooks (at Dutch Square Mall (Broad River Rd), and at Columbiana Mall (Harbison Blvd) in Columbia, SC) as well as the manager and patrons of the Barnes & Noble in Columbia, SC for recently inviting Laura to their stores and sign her book. Laura had a great time chatting with patrons and signing her book.
