Jason P. Schein
Jason P. Schein is a writer, naturalist, explorer, conservationist, science-evangelist, and a paleontologist. He has participated
in paleontological expeditions in Argentinean Patagonia and across the U.S., and continues to lead expeditions in Montana and Wyoming
as the founding director of the Bighorn Basin Paleontological Institute.
He holds a B.S. and an M.S. in geology from Auburn University and has taught geology and paleontology at universities in Alabama
and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has published numerous papers and abstracts on a wide variety of subjects, including paleoecology,
extinct fish, crocodiles, and giant sea turtles, dinosaurs, and the end-Cretaceous mass extinction.
After a ten-year career at a small museum in New Jersey, Jason left to become the founding Executive Director of the Bighorn Basin Paleontological
Institute. He currently lives in Philadelphia, where he fills his time by sharing his love of the natural
world with his family and by being a dad.
